MULTI-FAMILY PROJECTS
THE SANCTUARY
The Sanctuary was a unique project that posed many challenges. The original church was built in 1892 and was in service for over 115 years. After such a long span the building was in need of drastic repairs. The biggest one was the restoration of the beautiful stained glass and also incorporating elements to discreetly change the spaces into beautiful homes. We took great measures to preserve the architectural details of the building and also incorporate modern design.
CITTA 50
Citta 50 was a unique project for all parties involved. We were hired early on to help with the historic surveys of the existing building. We worked with the historic preservation review board (HPRB) to design a concept that would keep the beauty of the old coal house and incorporate a 7 story condominium. Started in early 2007, we were able to break ground later that year. Once completed, Citta 50 won awards for excellence in historic preservation as well as awards for the design from the Washingtonian Magazine.
